BIO OF Lawrence R. Wiesner
The President of the Lake County
Passion Play is Lawrence R. Wiesner, who is a native of San Francisco
and a life long resident of California, except for his active duty with
the United States Air Force from 1961-1965. Mr. Wiesner graduated from
Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California in 1961 and from San
Francisco State University in 1969 with a BA in both World Business and
Accounting. While at S.F. State, he was president of both the Student
World Trade Association and the honorary accounting fraternity—Beta
Alpha Psi, additionally, he served as Treasurer of the Symposium on
State Government and as a Director of the Junior World Trade Association
of the Greater San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. After a year of post
graduate work at S.F. State, he joined the San Francisco office of
PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 1970 and eventually took a position with a
client, Steelform Contracting Company, as their Comptroller in 1973.
Mr. Wiesner’s responsibilities at Steelform increased as he eventually
became General Manager of the firm while: forming two subsidiary
corporations (one domestic and the other foreign); doubling the physical
locations in the western United States and Canada; and, quadrupling the
volume of business activity. In 1986, he left Steelform and founded his
own Certified Public Accounting firm in Santa Rosa, California, which he
still owns and operates with business clients from Willits in the North
to Hollister in the South.
In addition to his practice as a CPA,
Mr. Wiesner is: active in youth ministry at his church; a member of
Sonoma County Pro-Life Council; a member of the Native Sons of the
Golden West, Nicasio Parlor #183; the Assistant Treasurer of the Sonoma
County Republican Party; and, has run as the Republican Candidate for
the United States House of Representatives District 1 for the elections
of 2002 and 2004.
